Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), arrested 16 Asians for transporting smuggled livestock from one Asian country to another by sea.
A statement issued online by ROP said: ”The Coast Guard Police, led by the Musandam Governorate Police, arrested 16 Asians at sea while they were transporting smuggled livestock from an Asian country through several boats to two wooden boats, with the aim of smuggling them to another country.”
“More than 830 heads of livestock were seized from them, and the suspects were handed over to the Musandam Customs Department to complete legal procedures against them,” the statement added.
