Rainfall expected in Muscat, several parts of Oman

Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued its seventh alert for rain of varying intensity in several governorates in the Sultanate of Oman, including the Governorate of Muscat.

 The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issued the seventh alert of heavy rains expected today from 11:30 am to 11 pm.

In it, the authority alerts of heavy thunderstorms, which are likely to fall during the noon and evening periods, which are concentrated in the governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, and parts of Muscat Governorate, extending to include parts of Al Dakhiliyah , South Al Batinah and Al Wusta, which may range from 20 to 70 mm.

The Civil Aviation Authority called on everyone to take precautions and caution during thunderstorms, not to cross valleys, avoid low places, and not go to sailing during the warning period.

 Alerts:

Heavy rains, ranging from 20-70 mm, may lead over flow of valleys and reefs.

 Active downward winds, with speeds ranging between 15 and 50 knots (28-90 km/h).

 Low horizontal visibility due to dust storms during thunderstorms.
