Here is how Omanis will celebrate first day of Eid al-Fitr

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will celebrate the first day of Eid Al-Fitr on Saturday, April 22, 2023 after fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

After citizens and residents perform Eid prayers, they exchange greetings, blessings and visit their relatives, in addition to carrying out a range of social and cultural activities. The presence of Omani food is part of the Eid celebrations, such as: Omani Halwa and Arsi and harees. Neighbors and families also exchange traditional food.



Folk songs are also part of the Eid celebrations in the governorates of Oman, where children perform beautiful folklore dances, such as: “Al-Razha”, “Al-Azi”, “Al-Habot”, “Al-Baraa”, “ Al-Nadba” and “Al-Rawah”. .

Children share the joy of the happy holiday by wearing new clothes and going to take their “Eidia” from their families, relatives and friends, such as toys, sweets and such kinds.

Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Shehhi, a resident of the Wilayat of Dibba in Musandam Governorate, said that what distinguishes Eid Al-Fitr is the payment of Zakat Al-Fitr; Where the head of the family takes out the zakat, or what is called in the local dialect "Al-Fitra", which is a measure of rice for each member of the house, and it is distributed to the poor and needy.

Ali bin Rashid Al Maamari from the Wilayat of Sohar in North Al Batinah Governorate expresses the beauty of the manifestations of Eid, which is represented in the gathering of neighbors in a public Majlis to eat the first breakfast on the day of Eid, so that everyone lives in an atmosphere of happiness and joy and exchanges congratulations on this happy occasion.
