Muscat: An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 on the Richter scale was recorded in Gulf of Aden on Wednesday.
It took place at 4:11 p.m. (Sultanate time), 965 km away from Salalah, according to Sultan Qaboos University's Earthquake Monitoring Centre.
"An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit the Gulf of Aden at 4:11 p.m. Sultanate time, 965 km from Salalah," the Centre announced via its official Twitter handle.
