Rainfall expected in parts of Oman

Muscat: Rainfall is expected in the governorates of North and South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta during the afternoon and evening on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, said the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

 The Civil Aviation Authority issued Alert No. (1) of the expected heavy rains.

The Authority said that it is likely to rain during the afternoon and evening periods in the governorates of North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Hajar Mountains and adjacent areas and parts of Al Wusta Governorate, which may range from 20 to 45 mm.

 The Civil Aviation Authority advises all to take precautions during rainfall and overflow of valleys, and to check the visibility and sea state before sailing, along with following weather bulletins & reports.

 Alerts:

- Heavy rains ranging from 20 to 45 mm, may lead to the flow of valleys and reefs.

- Active downward winds, with speeds ranging between 15 and 35 knots (28-64 km/h).

 - Decreased horizontal visibility due to dust and thunderstorms.
