Workshop on 'National Registry System for waste management'
Muscat: The Environment Authority organized a training workshop for employees from various environmental departments in the Sultanate governorates and companies, in order to learn and train the participants on the mechanism of using the national registry system for waste management, which will contribute to finding channels and tools that achieve optimal utilization of this waste, and encourage investment in a way that contributes to the national economy.
The workshop, which targeted individuals and the government and private sectors, comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Environment Authority, represented by the Department of Chemicals and Waste Management, in an effort to achieve the priority of the environment and natural resources in Oman Vision 2040 by contributing to the provision of environments of high quality and pollution-free. Promote a new culture in the field of waste management.
The workshop also aimed at enabling the private sector to build a diversified and solid economy capable of keeping pace with changes, ensuring financial and economic sustainability, and providing suitable job opportunities while ensuring the preservation of the environment and the proper exploitation of natural resources in a sustainable manner.
It is worth noting that the national registry of waste management system contributes to improving services and facilitating access to data, in addition to fulfilling the national obligations of the Sultanate of Oman in submitting international reports, which greatly enhances the level of global classification of environmental performance in the Sultanate of Oman.
