Muscat: A mountain collapse in Muscat Governorate, due to heavy rains, has affected two vehicles and caused traffic jams.
Heavy rainfall in the Wilayat of Al-Amerat in the Governorate of Muscat led to a mountain collapse on Al-Amerat-Qurayyat road on Al-Atakiya Street, causing traffic accidents and a large traffic jam.
An official in the Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed exclusively to Times of Oman that a mountain collapsed on the Al-Amerat-Qurayyat road in Muscat Governorate due to heavy rains. This affected two vehicles.
The Sultanate of Oman has been witnessing an air depression accompanied by thunderstorms, active winds at times, and falling of hailstones since the evening of Friday, April 7, 2023. It reached its climax today, Sunday, April 9, 2023, in the governorates of Dhofar, Al Wusta, South and North Al Sharqiyah, and parts of the governorates of Muscat, Al Dhahirah and Al Dakhiliyah.
