Muscat: The Zubair Corporation recently launched the sixth edition of its annual Ramadan football league for 2023 at the Goal One Soccer Centers in Al-Aziba. The tournament was inaugurated by Sultan Al-Ghaithi, CEO of Ara Petroleum, in the presence of officials from Ara Petroleum and The Zubair Corporation. The matches witnessed great enthusiasm among the participating teams, as they competed to win and gain points.
In his opening speech at the championship, Sultan Al-Ghaithi, CEO of Ara Petroleum, praised the efforts of the organizing committee in successfully organizing the Ramadan sports events, which are supported and approved by The Zubair Corporation board of directors. He also pointed out that the month of Ramadan provides beautiful opportunities to organize many activities that contribute to enhancing employees' belongingness and developing their skills, in addition to promoting many healthy behaviors among them. It also demonstrates the institution's interest in its employees by organizing various entertainment and educational events with the aim of providing an ideal work environment for them.
The tournament was organized with the sponsorship and support of Ara Petroleum, and the participation of 10 teams representing a number of group companies. The first day of the tournament saw two matches between Oman Computer Services Company and Bait Al-Zubair, which ended in a 3-1 victory for Oman Computer Services Company, and between Al-Zubair Automotive Group and Elco Company, where Al-Zubair Automotive Group shined, scoring four goals, and putting itself at the top of the group.
The participating teams are divided into two groups, the first including Oman Computer Services Company, Bait Al-Zubair, Elco Company, Al-Zubair Automotive Group, and Federal Electric Transformers. The second group includes Oasis Water, Ara Petroleum, Shangri-La, Al Zubair Electric and Oman Company for Supplies and Services for Petroleum Industries.
