RECITAL CanTANGO
This exciting show features the acclaimed tenor, Fabio Armiliato and celebrated tango pianist and arranger, Fabrizio Mocata. They combine Italian belcanto with tango in new arrangements called Recital CanTANGO, inspired by an early twentieth-century tango genre with recited singing. Recitation is by the mesmerising Uruguayan actor, Natalia Bolani who takes the audience back to nineteenth-century Rio de la Plata where Tango was born. Augmented by animated video projection, the performance is rendered in the fabulous Guardiola “Tango Teatro” style. Saturday March 3, at 7.30pm.

PAGLIACCI (CLOWNS)
Based on a true story, Ruggero Leoncavallo’s thrilling 1892 opera, Pagliacci relates the tragic irony in the life of a theatre clown, Canio who makes people laugh while his life falls apart. When an ill-intentioned fool tells Canio that his wife is about to elope with a lover, he becomes insanely jealous and the plot veers violently into reality. Canio is sung by José Cura, one of the world’s greatest interpreters of the role. Staging is by Franco Zeffirelli, widely recognised as the world’s most gifted and original director of opera and theatre. The orchestra and chorus of the prestigious Teatro dell’ Opera di Roma is conducted by Maestro Paolo Olmi. Thursday and Saturday, March 15 & 17, at 7:30pm.

MAJID EL MOHANDES
One of the greatest names in Arab music today, Iraqi singer and composer, Majid El Mohandes came from a simple, hard-working family. His amazing success is based on natural talent and a passion for music. After graduating in Engineering, he took up the oud and supported his music by working as a tailor. Accompanied by a large orchestra, El Mohandes will perform songs from his hit albums, featuring evocative pieces like Ouzkourini, Waheshni Moot, and Bedun Asmaa. Thursday and Friday, March 22 & 23 at 7:30pm.

ROBERTO ALAGNA &ALEKSANDRA KURZAK
One of the world’s most admired tenors, Roberto Alagna returns to the ROHM after a magnificent performance in October 2012. He shot to fame in 1988 at the age of twenty-four when he won the Pavarotti Competition. Soon Alagna was performing on opera’s best stages– from La Scala and the Metropolitan Opera to the Vienna State Opera and London’s Royal Opera House. Performing with Alagna is his wife, Aleksandra Kurzak, the internationally acclaimed Polish soprano who debuted at the Metropolitan Opera in 2004 and has since appeared at top venues across Europe and the USA. Mozart Masterpieces
In collaboration with the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra, ROHM will present a world-class concert conducted by Paul Meyer, a brilliant conductor in demand worldwide. The concert features overtures and arias from Mozart’s operas, sung by Paulo Szot, one of today’s most acclaimed baritones. ROHM patrons are sure to be thrilled when they hear ROSO’s virtuoso clarinetist, Ammar bin Ali Al Awaisi performing Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major. Thursday March 29, 7:30pm.
