Pink lakes of Jalan Bani Bu Ali become a tourist attraction

Jalan Bani Bu Ali: The Al Ruwais region in the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali has become an attraction for tourists due to the presence of beautiful ‘pink lakes’.

The Al Ruwais coastal area in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate is one of the beautiful regions overlooking the coastal strip of the Arabian Sea.

It has become an important tourist destination in the Sultanate of Oman as tourists flock to the region to get a glimpse of the wonderful pink lake.

This beautiful natural phenomenon (pink lakes) is formed by marine factors when sea water enters the creek, called ‘Al Ruwais Creek’. The presence of algae and plankton in the water gives it a pink colour.

The bright pink waters of the lakes are of particular importance to the residents and visitors of the region. The pink lakes are also a source of food for migratory birds, the most famous of which are the "flamingos" and waterfowls.
