Muscat: Bangladesh School Muscat (BSM) organized Annual Athletic Meet-2017-18 in a festive environment. Students of the school participated in a variety of amusing athletic competitions. They also presented eye-catching drills and showcased total discipline in the march past. The two days long meet ended by giving medals and trophies to the winners by the Chief Guest.
In this year, students participated in many diverse sport events as per the age and gender. Annual Athletic Meet is the regular event of the school to keep the students physically fit for growing up properly. The slogan of the school in this regard is “Do exercises get fit”.
Abul Hasan Mridha, the H O C, Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Sultanate of Oman graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. While expressing his feelings and appreciation, he thanked the school for the magnificent arrangement. He inspired students to be a good athlete for ensuring sound heath.
“Study and sports, both are very much essential for the students. Study makes them wise and sports make them strong. In the age of globalization, none can survive without acquiring knowledge and taking the benefits of sports. I would like to thank the school authority for giving equal emphasis on both study and sports.” said the Chief Guest.
The Chairperson, Board of Directors of Bangladesh Schools in the Sultanate, Sabina Akter Mojumder along with all members of the board witnessed the entertaining Annual Meet.
Sabina Akter Majumder thanked and congratulated the students for their lively and spontaneous participation. She also thanked the Principal-In-Charge and all the teaching and administrative staff for making the event a huge success.
Run Race, Balance Race, Chocolate Race, Sprint, Frog Jump, TT Ball Bouncing, Cricket Ball Throwing, Long Jump, Skipping, Shot put and Relay Race were the popular events in the Meet. Students from Class I-V participated in 25 and 50 meters Sprint, 25 meters Run race, 25 meters Chocolate Race, TT Ball Bouncing, Cricket Ball Throwing, Balance race and Frog Jump. Class VI-VII students participated in 100 and 200 meters Sprint, Skipping and Long Jump. Students from class IX-XII performed 400 meters Sprint, Shot put, Balance race and 4x400 meters Relay Race. All the students participated in different events house wise.
Principal-In-Charge Major Nasir Uddin Ahmed (Retd) PhD, all teaching and administrative staff, students and many parents enjoyed the athletic meet. Parents and staff of the school also participated in different interesting events.
