Muscat: The foundation stone for the construction project of a dialysis centre, funded by the Al jisr Foundation, in Sur Hospital, was laid today, Wednesday March 29, 2023 under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali bin Hilal Al-Sabti, Minister of Health.
The Minister of Health said that establishing the centre supports the efforts of the Ministry of Health to provide state of the art treatment services accessible in all Sultanate’s governorates.
His Excellency stressed the role played by the Ministry of Health in operating all services for diagnosing and treating kidney diseases and dialysis by equipping them with qualified medical staff according to the latest treatment methods. He added that this centre would serve dialysis patients from this governorate and reduce the burden on other similar centres.
The actual operation of the centre will be in three different phases. The capacity of the third and final phase will be 30 beds in the dialysis unit. In addition, a fully equipped intensive care department with basic medical supplies, including 22 beds for adults and 8 beds for pediatric intensive care units, will be established.
