Muscat: The Sultanate was ranked first in the world in the field of express mail service during the year 2022, among the member states of the Universal Postal Union, which includes 190 countries.
The national postal services operator, Oman Post, affiliated to the Asyad Group, has succeeded in enhancing its competitiveness and upgrading its services over the past few years, providing various packages of express mail delivery solutions to the last destination in a period ranging from 3 to 10 days, according to the best international standards.
This classification reflects the qualitative shift witnessed by the postal services in the Sultanate, from traditional services to competitive commercial services that keep pace with global requirements and developments. The Sultanate rose 74 ranks during the past two years from 75th position in 2020 to become the world's first country in the courier service index.
The classification is based on 16 key performance indicators that translate the speed and efficiency of postal services, such as delivery, transportation and export, data accuracy, compliance with regulations and systems, and the time taken for customs clearance.

It has worked through its various package of services to meet the needs of its customers in various markets, which includes express mail service, delivery of documents and goods, sending and receiving packages from post offices or customer premises, and last-mile delivery services around the world, ensuring reliable, safe, fast and efficient delivery of packages, ensuring maximum levels of customer comfort.
