The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in Salalah seized 6,000 expired food items (macaroni) from an orphanage that they had purchased during the Holy Month of Ramadan from a company. The company had tampered with the expiry dates on the packets and reprinted with new production dates. They were distributed to one of the orphanages in Salalah, with the intent to exploit the increasing demand during Ramadan to quickly profit, thus violating the Consumer Protection Law.
