Muscat: A delegation of ambassadors of Asean countries accredited to the Sultanate of Oman (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam) visited the Invest Oman Lounge on Tuesday.
During the visit, the ambassadors took note of the incentives offered to investors and procedures of investment in Oman.
The visit aims to foster economic ties between Oman and Asean countries. It also reflects the efforts made by the Foreign Ministry in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion to attract foreign investors and familiarise them about the investment climate in Oman. The delegation was briefed about the sections of the lounge and they learned about key services and incentives it provides for investors. The visit also underlined major investment opportunities available in various economic sectors in Oman.
A visual presentation was screened before the delegation. It outlined the Investor Residency Programme, as well as features and advantages of special economic zones and free zones.
The delegation was also briefed about salient pillars of the investment climate in Oman, the role of the lounge and the services it renders to investors in clear, streamlined mechanism.
The business environment in Oman received a boost with the opening of Invest Oman Lounge in February 2023. The Lounge, is expected to serve as the one-stop shop for foreign investors who are looking for opportunities in Oman.
The Lounge is expected to provide friendly business environment as it will help the prospective investors to the investment environment, incentives, industrial, free and economic zones.
The Lounge is expected to be a bridge between the government and private sector. It will provide a national database for investors with an integrated and researched investment map, to help Oman emerge as one of the best investment destinations.
