Zubair Electric and Federal Electrical Transformers sign agreements with Nama Holding Group

Muscat: Zubair Electric and Federal Electrical Transformers recently signed two respective agreements with Nama Holding Group in the presence of Hilal Bin Omar Al Siaybi, Chief Corporate Services Officer at Al Zubair Corporation, and Sulieman Bin Issa Al Balushi, General Manager of Federal Factory for Transformers and Switches, and Eng. Omar Bin Khalfan Al Wahibi, Chief Executive Officer at Nama Holding Group.

The signings took place on the sidelines of an event that saw the launch of four programmes by OIA to enhance in-country value (ICV). As part of the event, several companies including Nama Holding Group signed agreements to promote cooperation, development and innovation. Among the 12 contracts signed with local companies, Nama Holding Group chose Zubair Electric and Federal Electrical Transformers for the supply of cables and conductors and low-voltage substations.

Commenting on the agreement, Hilal Al Siaybi Chief Corporate Services Officer at Al Zubair Corporation said: “The Zubair Corporation is proud that two of its esteemed Group companies were chosen by Nama Holding Group as part of the OIA ICV agreements. Both companies have built a strong reputation in the fields of Automation and Smart Electricity, enabling them to access such opportunities”. Al Siaybi added also: “These agreements are embedded in the Government’s strategy to create more public and private sectors partnerships, supporting the needs of the Sultanate, in this case for the Electrical sector. We are proud to be part of this renewed effort to ensure government purchases are localized to enhance ICV”.

Commenting on the new agreement, Sulieman Al Balushi, General Manager at the Federal Factory for Transformers and Switches, specified: “the agreements are within a specific framework: they do not concern products purchase directly but are rather focused on collaborating between different parties for the planning and structuring of Oman’s electrical needs. For instance, our collaborations will entail planning Electricity Distribution Systems needs for electrical transformers or updating Oman's technical specifications for electrical products. Additionally, the different parties will organize periodic visits to electrical network engineers to inspect factories, supervise technical tests, identify production stages and exchange ideas on aspects of development in the Smart Electricity and Automation sectors.”
