Muscat: Locals in front of Nizwa Fort have prepared a cultural performance to welcome contests of the Tour of Oman.
Contestants have begun making their way to the starting point for the first phase in Nizwa.
Organised as part of the Muscat Festival by the Muscat Municipality, the race will be held in six stages across six days (February 14 to 19), covering a distance of 885 km with 144 riders distributed in eight teams.
A 5.7 km climb is also scheduled at Jebel Akhdar.
This is the eighth edition of the race and will be broadcast on 180 channels in different parts of the world.
Oman TV will broadcast the race for live four hours each day on all six days.
