Oman's Majlis Al Shura passes articles of companies law

Muscat: Majlis Al Shura has passed a number of articles of the Commercial Companies Law referred by the Council of Ministers.
Dr. Saleh bin Said Masan, Head of the Committee and the Rapporteur of the Committee, read the report of the Economic and Financial Committee on the draft law.
The draft law was presented together with the opinion of the Legislative, Legal, Economic and Financial Committees. Members of Majlis Al Shura made several observations and proposals on the draft articles that were discussed and approved by the two Committees or according to the draft referred by the Government, which the members of Majlis Al Shura voted that some of them remained unchanged.
This came during the ninth ordinary session of the third annual sitting (2017-2018) of the eighth term (2015-2019), which was held under the chair of Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura.
It is worth mentioning that the Economic and Financial Committee held several regular meetings and hosted the respective parties concerned with the draft law and listened to their views and suggestions on the project.
The committee also held joint meetings with the Legislative and Legal Committee of Majlis Al Shura in accordance with the provisions of the internal regulations of Majlis Al Shura.
The ninth ordinary session was adjourned until Majlis Al Shura resumes discussing the articles of the law on Tuesday at its tenth ordinary session.
