Muscat: 500 kilograms of wheat seed were distributed to farmers in Al Buraimi Governorate to plant and produce it during the next season on an area of more than 200 acres.
During the past seasons, the governorate witnessed a remarkable expansion in the areas cultivated for the wheat crop.
Eng. Nasser bin Ali Al Marshodi, Director General of the Directorate General of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in Al Buraimi Governorate, said: "There is an increase in the cultivated areas of the wheat crop in the governorate, due to its great importance, as it is one of the strategic crops in the Sultanate of Oman due to its effective contribution to the food security system.
