Oman residents enjoy themselves at fun exhibition

Muscat: Exciting activities for children, a mini food festival and a display of clothes and jewellery were the order of the day at the recent Grand Exhibition Village, which was recently held at the Al Bahja Hall in Qurum, where visitors came in large numbers to engage in the fanfare at the venue.
At the beginning, the event was inaugurated by Nada Al Zadjali, assistant director of the Muscat Festival at the Muscat Municipality and Dalia Al Bassami, entrepreneur and a popular Omani photographer, after which the event was opened to guests. The special guest at the event was Raya Al Riyami.
Stalls displaying a variety of clothes, jewellery, makeup and home décor products were on display all through the event, which took place from 10am to 10pm.
Besides the above, a mini food festival was also part of the event, where food delights, such as cupcakes, Indian savoury snacks, sandwiches, haleem, biryani, sweets and other delicious items were enjoyed by the visitors. Some stall holders offered special deals for the day.
“We try to bring in entertaining activities for children and adults because there is a huge demand for them all the time, and people like being part of them. Alpha Events is really happy to get such brilliant feedback from visitors at the event, we promise to bring in more of these for Muscat’s residents,” said Fahad Awais Munir, managing director of Alpha Events, the company which organised the Grand Exhibition Village.
After the opening, the next big event was a birthday event; where over 50 children took part and had fun in an exciting line-up of games and won several prizes. Parents were also happy to leave their tiny tots as they worked their way into the drawing and parents took advantage of the opportunity to take a look at the various stalls displaying a range of items.
All the children got to try the delicious cake handcrafted by Cakes Royale, which is at the Panorama Mall. Goody bags were distributed among the children soon after the party was over.
“It was so nice to see lots of inquiries coming to me before the event, which really encouraged us to do our best in making visitors happy and comfortable at the event. The other great thing was that people were actually calling us to say how they could contribute to the event, we had singers, drummers and other performers call us and say that they wanted to display talent through our platform,” added Munir.
The evening hours saw a much bigger attendance and lots of stage activities. A raffle draw with many exciting prizes was also conducted in the evening. Nadeem al Balushi, Oman’s very popular singer stole the show with his melodious English and Arabic songs.
Lakshay, a young drummer, mesmerised the audience with his brilliant beats, other children were also given an opportunity to showcase their talent on stage.
The organisers thanked the event’s partners—Mitesh from Oman Foodstuff Factory, Lynn al Khatib from Nestle, Shivanand from Sweets of Oman, Khadija from Al Zain Nursery, Faruk and Firoz from PRAN Foods, Lorna from Oman Refreshment Company, Kumar from Indaprastha restaurant, Suraiya from Foodlands restaurant, Deepak from Jashn restaurant, Dr. Suhail from Sun Dental centre, and Ahmed Ansari from Cakes Royale. Oman Oasis distributed 2,000 free bottles of water among all the visitors.
“It was a beautiful event, there was something for everyone, and Friday being a holiday, it was easier for the entire family to come and visit this lovely exhibition, we look forward to more of such events in the future,” said Simi, a young girl, who came to the event.
