Muscat: The Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir (ISWK) recently launched its Alumni Association during the formal farewell of its outgoing batch of class 12.
The launch ceremony took place in the presence of Chief Guest, Mr. Praveen Kumar, Chief Finance Officer, OHI Group of Companies; Anil Khimji, chief patron; Kiran Asher, former chairman of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman; Rajendra Ved, executive director of ISWK and ISWK International; and Alkesh Joshi, honorary president of ISWK School Management Committee.
Other esteemed members of the School Management Committee, Principal D.N. Rao, as well as teachers, parents, students and well-wishers were also in attendance.
The president of the ISWK Alumni Association, Antony Kallukaran, a graduate of the 2004 batch, revealed the new ISWK Alumni logo while announcing the objectives, intentions and purpose of the Alumni Association. The members of the Alumni Management Committee were thereafter introduced: Krunal Ahya (Vice-President), Nitin Arvind (Treasurer), Sasha Saldanha (Secretary) and Makushla Santimano (Director – Marketing and Events).
Speaking on the occasion, Antony said: “It has been a dream come true and is a wonderful feeling to be able to give back to our alma mater. This association was formed to provide a platform to keep the alumni connected with the school and constantly engage the members through a wealth of activities, education programs and events. The association will assist students and teachers in financial distress, sponsor school assets, award scholarship programmes and help students and alumni with mentoring programmes and career guidance.”
The ISWK Alumni Association is proud to announce its calendar of events aimed at connecting and engaging its graduates. These initiatives are aimed at helping the alumni stay connected to the school and to each other. With these new programmes, graduates will have access to a plethora of resources and opportunities to enhance their professional and personal lives.
“We are thrilled to launch these new initiatives and provide our alumni with opportunities to connect, engage, and grow,” said Makushla Santimano. “Our graduates are a valuable resource to the school, and we are committed to supporting them in their personal and professional endeavors.”
The Alumni Association also launched a new website for the alumni to connect with each other and stay up-to-date on alumni news and events. The website www.iswkalumnioman.com will feature details on membership and registration, a gallery of pictures, and the calendar of events.
