To ease the traffic woes of motorists in the Muscat Governorate, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has confirmed that alternative plans have been prepared.
Speaking at the briefing of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday, Eng. Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, said: “We have identified three alternative routes to ease the traffic congestion in the Governorate of Muscat. They are Nakhal-Bidbid, A’Seeb-Bidbid, Al Amerat-Dama Wa Ta’eein and the routes are in the stage of designing and we will determine the best possible option.” Al Maawali said that the cost of constructing new roads, maintaining and repairing roads in 2023 would cost more than OMR 1 billion.
