Muscat: On the occasion of Omani Teacher's Day, which falls on the 24th of February every year, His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, said in a tweet that teachers should be respected and appreciated.
His Eminence the Grand Mufti on his official Twitter account, about teachers: “No doubt that the teacher is a role model, so he has to be respected and appreciated. The teacher also has to know his status and how he is respected and appreciated. He can realise this by being an example in adhering to the morals of religion, be an example for his students in diligence and the use of time and not to neglect any of the details of the true religion.”
In the recent Council of Ministers meeting, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik praised teachers and their active role in raising the generations of this country, and instilling virtuous values in them. The Council of Ministers decided to allocate the Omani Teacher's Day - which falls on the 24th of February every year - as an official holiday for all teachers and related support positions in public and private schools.
