Tunis: Dr. Hilal Abdullah Al Sinani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Tunisian Republic, affirmed that the Omani-Tunisian relations are on the threshold of further cooperation, development and expansion, particularly in the economic, trade and investment fields. He said that the Omani-Tunisian relations have achieved steady growth in several spheres.
In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), the ambassador explained that the embassy is exerting efforts to attract major Tunisian companies to invest in the Sultanate of Oman.
In this regard, the ambassador elaborated that several meetings were held and visits to the Sultanate of Oman were arranged for a group of Tunisian investors with the aim of exploring areas of cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
He pointed out that the deliberations of the Omani-Tunisian Committee has culminated in the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs), which constitute an important basis ground for cooperation between the two countries in various common fields. He added that (28) agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed and (32) agreements and memorandums of understanding are underway.
The most important of which, the ambassador explained, cover areas of cultural, educational, artistic, media, and health cooperation, investment encouragement, avoidance of double taxation, a memorandum of understanding in the field of environment, climate affairs, and nature conservation, as well as an agreement in the field of restoration of monuments, a memorandum in the field of tourism cooperation, and a memorandum of understanding in the field of technical education and vocational training.
Dr. Hilal Abdullah Al Sinani, Ambassador of Oman to Tunisia concluded his speech by saying that the Omani Embassy in the Tunisian Republic is working to contribute to promoting the Sultanate of Oman and its investment components and incentives in line with Oman Vision 2040, which focuses on developing the private sector and investment and strengthening international cooperation to attract investments and push towards economic diversification.
