Supreme Judicial Council reviews labour issues

Muscat: The Supreme Judicial Council reviewed labour issues and mechanisms for developing and activating the role of dispute settlement committees, during a panel discussion held at the Council’s headquarters on Sunday.

The panel discussion aimed to find solutions and discuss the challenges facing the work of these committees, and allow room for all observations to be made to activate their work and find appropriate solutions that would raise the level of work of the committees, increase the number of settlements, and reduce the number of cases referred to the labour courts.

The meeting comes as a continuation of the efforts made by the Ministry of Labour in cooperation with the Supreme Judicial Council to ease the work of the Labour Dispute Settlement Committees and to discuss all the challenges facing the work of the committees to achieve the desired goals for which they were set.

The participants and legal researchers reviewed proposals to develop work, find legal solutions, and develop the electronic system link to facilitate the work of labour dispute settlement committees.
