Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs announced that the registration for Hajj this year has started and those wishing to perform pilgrimage can register themselves through the electronic portal till 4 March, 2023.
In this context, the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) called on all beneficiaries of social security and those wishing to perform Hajj for the year 1444 AH at the expense of the Royal grant, to register via the website: https://hajj.om.
The Ministry indicated that the registration method can be done through the following link: (www.hajj.om) directly during the specified period only. The system provides three methods for direct registration, which are (registration by entering the civil number, ID card, or mobile phone number if the ID chip and phone card are supported by the electronic authentication system "PKI").
The Ministry added that the applicant, whether a man or a woman, or a person with a visual or kinetic disability, has the right to obtain a chaperone, to be chosen from those who have been registered in the system according to the controls. Women have to choose their Mahram from those who have previously been registered in the system. The registration will be based on the civil number written in the ID card, provided that it is valid.
The Ministry stated that the applicant should use his personal phone number (mobile) during the registration process in order to receive text messages from the system or the personal e-mail, which is the means for communicating with any procedures or reports.
MERA revealed that as of Tuesday, February 21, 2023 it received over 12,000 requests from across the Sultanate. Al Dakhiliyah with 2253 requests topped the number among the governorates, followed by Muscat.
