MERA announces first day of Sha'ban for 1444 AH

Muscat: Wednesday is the first day of the month of Sha’ban for the year 1444 AH, corresponding to February 22, 2023, The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA), said.

The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs announced that the sighting of the crescent of Sha'ban for 1444 AH has not been confirmed. The sunset of this day, Monday, the 29th of the month of Rajab 1444 AH, corresponds to February 20, 2023.

The Ministry said: ”Tomorrow will be the completion of the month of Rajab for the year 1444 AH, corresponding to February 21, 2023. The day after tomorrow will be Wednesday, the beginning of the month of Sha’ban for the year 1444 AH, corresponding to February 22, 2023.”
