Muscat: The Zubair Corporation hosted its “Townhall 2023” event on 15 February at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, bringing together over 300 employees and guests from the eight business sectors of the Group, including the Chairman of The Zubair Corporation, Rashad Mohammad Al Zubair, and Group CEO Niels Bormans.
The Townhall event was an opportunity for employees to learn more about the Corporation’s current initiatives and future plans. Sector heads used the occasion to share their teams' progress in 2022, and showcase each Sectors plan towards future success.
Niels Bormans shared his thoughts on the company’s goals for 2023 in a comprehensive presentation at the event, commenting: “At The Zubair Corporation, we are committed to leading the way in innovative and sustainable business practices while also building a purpose-driven workplace that fosters teamwork and camaraderie. We believe that by focusing on the four pillars of investment and portfolio management, human capital management, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction, we will continue to drive growth and success for our employees, stakeholders, and the communities in which we operate.”
The Chairman and CEO presented staff awards under the slogan ”Let’s Go for Gold” as the highlight of the event. These awards recognised the exceptional performance of staff members from the Corporation and its group companies who had demonstrated excellence in their respective fields and contributed to the growth and success of the Corporation.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the winners of the Let’s Go for Gold awards. These awards are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and exceptional performance in their respective fields. It’s truly inspiring to see our colleagues strive for excellence and achieve great success. Their contributions are a vital part of the continued success of The Zubair Corporation, and I look forward to seeing even more great things from them in the future,” said Rashad Mohammad Al Zubair.
Delivering the closing speech of the day, Rashad Mohammad Al Zubair took the opportunity to thank everyone for their dedication and shared some wise words to guide the company as it enters a new era. Quoting the founder of Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford, Rashad said: “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.” This sentiment was at the heart of the Corporation’s motto for the day - “Together. Towards. Tomorrow.”
Rashad emphasised the importance of working collectively to achieve success, adding: “Success is made, not won. Our goal is to allow all our group companies and sectors an opportunity to showcase their business and successes and align everyone towards the same goals. Townhall 2023 marks the start of what we hope to become a regular custom for the Corporation, which we hope will serve as a catalyst for continued engagement with our employees and push them to work together to reach their full potential.” The Zubair Corporation intends for the Townhall event to be an important part of the company’s culture and to foster a sense of community and collaboration among employees. It will provide a single platform for all sectors to showcase their successes and share information, bring employees together for team discussions and feedback, understand the Corporation’s strategy and key objectives, and ensure that everyone at The Zubair Corporation is working towards the same goals.
Commenting after the event, Niels Bormans said: “The Townhall event was a huge success and provided valuable insights into the future plans and strategies of the Corporation. The open and honest discussion demonstrated the strong commitment of the Corporation to its people. We would like to extend our gratitude to all who attended and contributed to the success of this important event. Their participation and engagement are vital to the continued success of our Corporation, and I look forward to continuing to work together with each one of them to shape the future of our business, and this wonderful country.”
