Paris: Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) lead at the top of the French Ligue 1 table is unlikely to be lost completely, but Monaco moved one step and three points closer to the leaders as they claimed a 3-1 win over the side from the capital.
The loss was just PSG's third of the Ligue 1 season but, worryingly for Kylian Mbappe and co., it was their second in their last five games and the third time in that period that they've dropped points.
The lead at the top of the French top tier is now seven points, and PSG's attention will now turn to hosting Bayern Munich in the Champions League this Tuesday after the Bavarians were unimpressive in a 3-0 win on yesterday.
Things started badly for PSG and they trailed within five minutes. Aleksandr Golovin opened the scoring after Wissam Ben Yedder saw a shot blocked and fall into his path. He made no mistake in poking beyond Gianluigi Donnarumma.
That lead was doubled before 20 minutes had been played and Ben Yedder was celebrating a goal of his own. He pounced on a chance after Monaco had won the ball high up the pitch, and managed to squeeze an effort past the PSG 'keeper from a tight angle.
PSG tried to fight their way back and did halve the deficit in the 39th minute through Warren Zaire-Emery, finishing off after Juan Bernat had squared into the six-yard box, but their hope was dashed shortly after.
PSG didn't even make it to the break before conceding again, and it was once more Ben Yedder who got it. A cleverly worked move ended with him side-stepping Bernat before finishing perfectly off the inside of the post.
The second half saw PSG press, but they were to have no luck as they tried to claw their way back. Now, Bayern await in theUEFA Champions League and PSG are vulnerable.
