This comes as part of the Authority's efforts to curb abuses committed by suppliers, combat the spread of unauthorized commodities, and hold violators accountable in accordance with the regulations of Consumer Protection Law and decisions issued by the Authority.

During their field visits to the shops and markets in the governorate, the judicial control officers raided a commercial establishment in the wilayat of Bawsher that trades and sells expired dyes and other adulterated quantities.

Erasing Expiry Dates

It was discovered that expiry dates were being erased in a professional manner, in violation of the Consumer Protection Law and its implementing regulations.

The 46 boxes seized during the raids, would be destroyed in coordination with the concerned authorities in the Governorate. Legal action has also been taken against the institution.

The Authority affirms that it will spare no effort in following up and monitoring the markets and controlling everything that may harm the health and safety of consumers, and will take legal measures against violators.

It also appeals to consumers to report any violations that they may notice in the markets through the Authority's various communication channels.
