Muscat: The total revenues of hotels with a rating of 3 to 5 stars increased by the end of December 2022 by 82.7 percent, to reach OMR185,772, compared to the same period in 2021.
The number of guests in these hotels increased by 33.6 percent until the end of December 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. The occupancy rate recorded a growth of 17.6 percent until the end of December 2022 to reach 45 percent compared to 38.3 percent during the same period in 2021, according to the monthly statistical bulletin issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.
The number of Gulf guests recorded a significant growth of 304 percent, from 39,689 people at the end of December 2021 to 160,340 until the end of December 2022, followed by Europeans, whose number grew from 105, 558 at the end of December 2021 to 360, 339 until the end of December 2021. with a growth rate of 241.4 percent.
As for the number of American tourists, it amounted to 60,148 people until the end of December 2022, recording an increase of 165.4 percent compared to the same period in 2021, while the number of Omanis decreased by 14.1 percent, from 814,518 from the end of December 2021 to 699,937 until the end of December 2022.
