Canadian Jebel K9 brings back Canines for a Cause 2023 at Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel

Muscat: After a long period of anticipation, Canadian Jebel K9 is excited to announce the comeback of the annual Canines for a Cause Charity Festival this Saturday 11 February 2023 at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, in collaboration with media partner HiFM. The day boasts both prize draws and door prizes as well as a host of vendors showcasing products and services for the community. The event will also shed a light on local rescue groups to help raise awareness for animal welfare across Oman.

After being placed on hold since 2019 due to the pandemic restrictions, this year marks the 5th Annual Event for this initiative, presenting a fun-filled family day out for everyone to enjoy, especially dogs. Doors open at 9am and the official event will start at 10am and ends at 3pm, where a line up of talented dogs will showcase various displays such as ‘Agility, Search and Rescue Display’ and ‘Jumping Display’.

“We are so delighted to bring back such an exciting initiative to support our local community. During our last event, we welcomed over 1000 participants and over 400 dogs. You can imagine the excitement and buzz from dog-lovers enjoying the games and competitions whilst marveling at a world of breeds, coming together at the beautiful setting of Al Bustan Palace” – Alfa Vold, Founder and Managing Partner of Canadian Jebel K9 and Jebel 5 Star Pet Resort, Organiser of Canines For A Cause.

For those who like to add a little more fun to the day, guests are invited to bring their dog in a costume for a chance to win the ‘Best Dressed Dog’.

Some of the other entertaining competitions include: Best Trick, Dress-Up Relay, Rocket Recall, How Hight Can You Fly Jumping Competition, Musical Hoops, Bone Appetite, Paw-casso and Find the Treat. Visitors can also try out the Obedience and Agility Competition for novice and advanced obedience.

Prizes and ribbons will be awarded to first and second place and prizes are in store for the best dressed dog, loveliest lady dog, the most handsome hound, the most outrageous dog, the gorgeous golden oldie, the best rescuer and find the treat winner. Dogs of all varieties and levels are welcome to join in, whether a beginner or experienced canine in competitions.

Tickets are available at the entrance and fees for this special event are OMR 5 per person, OMR 2 per dog and children under 12 years old are free of charge for entry. Proceeds from all ticket sales will be going to Child Care Center and Animal Rescue in Oman. There will be a lunch served on the lawns at an additional cost to the entrance fee.
