Muscat: Large amounts of marijuana and around 4,700 cartons of illegal cigarettes were confiscated by customs officials at two Oman ports, the department announced online, adding that the contraband items were hidden in a "professional" manner.

Customs officers at Muscat International Airport foiled a bid to smuggle a quantity of marijuana that was hidden inside boxes that contained fish, Oman Customs said in a statement online.
