Muscat: A forum on maximising awareness about cyber security, organised by Oman Data Park and Cisco Ingram kicked off recently at Novotel Al Seeb Hotel, in the presence of a number of representatives of governmental entities, private sector companies, interested parties and guests.
The forum reviewed a number of working papers and discussions on opportunities to maximise cyber security Maximizing cyber security through assumed breach assessments and through Cisco cloud security, Cisco App Dynamics to transform the applications and business with App Dynamic’s real-time performance monitoring, as well as by using other leading applications in which Oman Data Park deals.
The organisation of this forum comes within the keenness of Oman Data Park in the field of information technology, cloud services, hosting and virtual data centre services in the Sultanate of Oman, to continue its active role in contributing to the digital transformation process in the Sultanate of Oman.

Al-Wahaibi added: This focus of Oman Data Park on cyber security activities will also lead to an increase in awareness among public and private entities on the importance of hosting their data within the Sultanate of Oman to avoid the risks of hosting them outside the country, while Oman Data Park is proud of its capabilities and equipment that are able to repel more than (8000) daily electronic attacks on various institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
Fayez Al-Zadjali, Senior Sales Manager, briefed the forum's attendants on the services Oman Data Park provided and its interest in digital data and cloud solutions.
For his part, Mohammed Al-Ruzaiqi, Senior Specialist in Cyber Security, focused on the possibility of strengthening the cyber security mechanism by simulating the penetration process as a way to identify and develop the cyber security system in the targeted entities and arrange to serve them.
Rami Abbas, Regional Director of Cyber Security Services and Cloud Solutions has addressed the attendants of the forum on the importance of providing protection and insurance for employees in all circumstances to which they may be exposed, in addition to its impacts on employee productivity and the suitability of the work to achieve the required tasks.
Finally, Shadi Al-Shami, a systems engineer at Cisco Oman, highlighted the cyber security challenges that the technology sector is witnessing today, and how Cisco meets customers' needs related to cyber security to ensure the protection of business and data.
