Oman condemns attack on Embassy of Azerbaijan

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has condemned the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Oman expresses its condemnation of the attack that targeted the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran, affirming its firm position and rejection of any action targeting diplomatic missions and destabilising security and stability.

A guard has been killed in the attack on the embassy, according to the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding that it will evacuate its diplomatic staff .

"The attacker broke through the guard post, killing the head of security with a Kalashnikov assault rifle," it said. Friday's attack in Tehran also injured two guards, the Azerbaijani ministry said. An investigation has been launched.
