Muscat: The Directorate General of Meteorology reported that the weather of the Sultanate of Oman will be affected by an air depression next week. Sporadic rain is expected in the coastal governorates of the Sea of Oman.

The Directorate indicated that rain will be limited due to the dry western winds, and according to current indicators, the impact of the depression will continue throughout the week, with sporadic rains in general.

The directorate indicated that the depression will be accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperatures, with the possibility of frost forming on mountain peaks.

Oman Meteorology stated earlier that the weather condition today, Thursday, January 19, 2023, will be partly cloudy in Musandam Governorate, and generally clear in the rest of the governorates.

The meteorologists suggested that low clouds or fog might form at late night and morning over parts of the governorates of Dhofar, Al Wusta, Al Sharqiyah South, Al Buraimi and Al Dhahirah.

The meteorologists warned of northwesterly winds, with a relative decrease in temperatures, and the possibility of dust storms in desert areas.
