GCC, Egypt and Jordan leaders meet in Abu Dhabi, discuss plans to meet the aspirations of people

Abu Dhabi : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik took part on Wednesday in the fraternal meeting that brought together leaders from some GCC states, Jordan and Egypt.

His Majesty the Sultan’s participation stems from a conviction in the significance of such fraternal meetings and their fruitful outcome that contributes to realising the aspirations of their countries’ peoples.

The meeting was attended by the delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday morning.

UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was at the head of the welcoming party that received His Majesty the Sultan at the foot of the ramp when the Royal aircraft touched ground at the Presidential Airport here.

His Majesty was also received by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Special Affairs Advisor at the Presidential Court.

On Wednesday afternoon, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik returned home after taking part in the fraternal meeting that brought together leaders of some GCC states, Jordan and Egypt in Abu Dhabi.

During the visit, His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied by an official delegation comprising Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and Sayyid Dr. Ahmed bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

His Majesty the Sultan was seen off at the Presidential Airport in Abu Dhabi by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, and a number of senior UAE officials.

Upon his departure at Abu Dhabi, His Majesty the Sultan sent a cable of thanks to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. His Majesty expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him during the visit.

His Majesty hailed the fraternal meeting as an opportunity to discuss relations and means of consolidating cooperation among the states in all fields.

He prayed to Allah the Almighty to grant the UAE President continued good health and happiness. His Majesty wished the UAE leader success in realising the aspirations of his country’s people.
