Muscat Nights: ‘It’s time for permanent festival venues’

MUSCAT: Ahmed Mohammed Al Hamidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, said that it is time to have a permanent venue to organise festivals and events in the future.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday to announce details of Muscat Nights 2023, Al Hamidi said: “It is time to have a permanent venue to hold festivals in the future. We have also discussed the proposals and Muscat Municipality will announce the venue where we can have the festivals and events at a later time.”

Al Hamidi said Muscat Nights will inspire greater concepts for the festival’s future edition.

“We wanted this event to enhance innovation among ambitious youth, productive families and business owners by offering all these segments different areas to showcase their products in various locations of Muscat Nights venues, Al Hamidi added.

“Muscat Nights are a starting point for Muscat Municipality’s agenda for the current year,” Al Hamidi said, and hoped that the event would live up to the aspirations of society.

The inaugural edition of Muscat Nights will be held across four venues. Citizens have expressed concerns of traffic congestion at the Al Qurum Natural Park during the event that will be held from January 19-February 4.
