Dubai: The annual Dubai Shopping Festival is more than just an extravaganza of discounts and deals. It is also an opportunity to enjoy live performances, and to spend fun times with your family and friends at different arts and music festivals happening throughout DSF.

This year’s edition of Dubai Shopping Festival features concerts of local, regional, and international artists, as well as family-friendly entertainment options. Here are the events that you should not miss:

For the music-lovers

Tunes DXB

Back by popular demand, Tunes DXB will run from 6 to 15 January showcasing talented local artists, like Hamdan Al Abri, Alya Al Ali, Maitha Al Mansoori, and Shebani, with daily performances from 5 pm to 11 pm.

Check out free-to-attend live music in different locations across the city including Al Seef, Boxpark, Bluewaters, City Centre Deira, City Walk, Kite Beach, Last Exit Al Khawaneej, Nakheel Mall, The Pointe, and The Beach, JBR.

Dubai Beats at Etisalat MOTB

On 19, 20, 26, and 27 of January, Dubai Beats is back with four days of musical performances, showcasing some of the region's best rising talents. The first night hip-hop fans also got to enjoy electric sets by female rapper; Jara, DJ Aseel and Saudi Arabian prodigy BLVXB. On the second night DJ Kaboo will be hitting the decks with his Arab-fusion sound and stellar performances from Egyptian musician Ali Loka, and Muslim. The third night features even more Arab talent taking to the stage, with energetic performances by Emirati singer, Shamma Hamdan; Kuwaiti popstar, Bader AlShuaibi; and Mouslem. The last night will see Lebanese pop singers Farah Chreim and Lama Shreif will both be giving solo performances. Also confirmed to make an appearance and complete the night of this year's Dubai Beats is Jordanian musician, Hossam Sillawy. The event is free for everyone to attend at Dubai’s Design District (D3).

Hans Zimmer Concert

Hans Zimmer, the multiple Academy Award-winning composer responsible for some of the most listened-to soundtracks in the history of cinema, is bringing his new breathtaking European tour Hans Zimmer Live to Dubai.

The highly-anticipated concert will take place at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena on Friday, 27 January, and Saturday, 28 January and will feature two and a half hours of new and reimagined arrangements from the Oscar-winning composer’s stellar back catalogue, all spectacularly recreated on stage by Zimmer himself, together with a large orchestra and complemented by Hans Zimmer’s magnificent live band and dancers. Perfect for the Family

OVO by Cirque du Soleil

High-energy and high-acrobatic production of OVO by Cirque du Soleil will run from 12 to 18 January at the Coca-Cola Arena. Inspired by the colorful and beguiling world of insects, the world-famous circus show is set to fascinate the audience of all ages with talented cast, exquisite costumes, and captivating light, sound, and special effects. Tickets start at AED116 from the venue’s website.

COREUNITY Festival at Hatta

Happening for the first time, the COREUNITY Festival will take over Dubai’s adventure capital Hatta to deliver incredible music, movement, and wellness from 13 to 15 January 2023.

The three-day event will have activities for all ages including a dedicated fitness and play area for the little ones. COREUNITY Festival got everyone covered - whether you’re a fitness and wellness enthusiasts, adventure-seeker, art aficionado, or simply looking for a fun weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Quoz Arts Fest

After a successful ninth edition in 2022, the Quoz Arts Fest will return to Dubai’s artistic hub Alserkal Avenue on 28 and 29 January 2023. Headlining the festival are two emerging artists from the Arab World - Saint Levant and Bu Kolthoum. The event will also feature live performances by Dubai’s homegrown talents, curated workshops, and creative exhibitions. Head to Alserkal Avenue with your whole family and enjoy kid-friendly activities, a range of food trucks, and more.

Daily Fireworks and Drone Show

Spectators can also enjoy the marvelous fireworks and the awe-inspiring drone show daily until January 29. The DSF fireworks are available across different locations including Dubai Festival City, Bluewaters and The Beach, JBR at 8:30 pm or 9:00 pm.

The DSF Drone Show hosts two all-new themed shows: Dubai Shopping Festival, inspired by the DSF’s retail offerings, and The Future of Dubai, inspired by the 2040 vision. The highly-popular shows are held twice daily at 7 pm and 10 pm at The Beach and Bluewaters opposite Jumeirah Beach Residence.
