Nizwa: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) yesterday celebrated its Annual Day, which falls on January 5 each year.
The celebration was held at the Military Parade Field of the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences (SQAPS) in the Wilayat of Nizwa, the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah, under the aegis of Dr. Ali bin Masud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry.
Lt.Gen Hassan bin Mohsin Al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, security services, honourable members of the State Council and Majlis Al Shura, judges and local officials were also present on the occasion.
During the event, A’Dakhiliyah Police Command was announced as winner of ROP Award for Criminal Research which aims at raising awareness of the importance of criminal research.
The award also aimed at enhancing competition among Police formations specialised in the field of criminal research to improve their performance, limit the number of crimes, spot criminals and referring them to courts.
The Governorate of A’Dhahirah Police Command has been declared winner of ROP Traffic Safety Competition ( A Role Model of Compliance).
The Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences was declared winner of ROP competition for infantry for the sixth consecutive time.
