Police confiscate 20 cars modified for drifting in Oman

Muscat: Royal Oman Police (ROP) confiscated 20 cars which were modified to be used for drifting and show purposes in Al South Al Batinah governorate.
Following complaints from residents of car drifting activities in their neighbourhood, police officers raided a number of workshops and farms where people used to modify the vehicles, ROP reported on Sunday.
The accused have been sent to the public prosecution for further investigation.
Arrested
Customs officials arrested an Omani national on charges of possessing nine boxes of different brands of firecrackers, Royal Oman Police said on Sunday.
Smuggling bid
Meanwhile, officers in Muscat International Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,260 capsules of narcotics.
