With slaughterhouse repaired, Muscat Municipality all set to deal with Eid rush

Muscat: Muscat Municipality has announced that several of its units are now in a state of readiness to serve locals and residents alike on Eid Al Fitr after the slaughterhouse underwent intensive repair work.
The central slaughterhouse in Baushar and the temporary one in Seeb are ready to deal with the pressure of Eid.Several facilities, such as parking, waiting area, cooling rooms and public amenities were repaired and renovated. The municipality will take all preventative, health and technical measures to ensure the smooth operation of the slaughterhouses.
The Muscat Municipality also encourages citizens and residents to slaughter the livestock in the slaughterhouses where veterinarians available as it ensures the safety of the product. Also, such facilities ensirethat slaughtering is carried out in the proper Islamic way.
“We advise our consumers to head straight home after receiving their product. If the product is to be transported over a long distance, we advise that it be placed in ice.Customers should not use cartons and black garbage bags to transport the meat and should instead use the slaughterhouse’s bags,” said the municipality.
Timings
The central slaughterhouse in Baushar will be open today (Monday) and on Tuesday from 8:30am to 2pm and again from 8pm to midnight. On Wednesday and Thursday, the timings will be from 7:30am to 1:30pm and again from 7:30pm to midnight. The slaughterhouse will operate from 7am to 11am on Friday and 6:30am to 1pm on Saturday.
The Seeb slaughterhouse will operate today (Monday) from 9am to 5pm. Tuesday’s operation will be from 8am to 1pm,and then from 2pm to 5pm. Wednesday and Thursday will see the slaughterhouse functioning from 7:30am to 2pm, then again from 4pm to 8pm. Friday’s operation will be from 7:30am to 11pm and Saturday’s will be from 7:30am to 2pm.
