Muscat: An official at the Ministry of Labour has clarified regarding the news being circulated that the Sultanate of Oman is looking into the feasibility of converting weekend holidays to three days, instead of two.
He explained that the topic was proposed by one of the governors in the meeting organised by the Ministry of Labour with their Excellencies the governors, where the speaker asked if it is possible to change the weekend holiday system in Oman to three days instead of two.
He added, "Officials from the Ministry of Labour have made it clear that the decision on this issue falls under the jurisdiction of the Council of Ministers, and there is no objection to studying this proposal and putting it up for discussion."
