Muscat: Rain is expected in the governorates of Musandam and North Al Batinah today, Friday, January 6, 2023, due to air depression that may effect the northern part of the Sultanate of Oman.

The weather forecast issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology today, Friday, January 6, 2023, indicated that the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy in the governorates of Musandam and North Al Batinah, with the possibility of sporadic rain of varying intensity and the possibility of clouds flowing over the northern governorates, and low clouds or fog will form at the end of the night and early morning in parts From the governorates of south Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar.

On Thursday, January 5, 2023 the Civil Aviation Authority announced: “The latest weather maps and analyzes of the National Early Warning Center for Multiple Hazards indicate that the north part of Sultanate of Oman has been affected by a groove from an air depression from Thursday evening, January 5, 2023, and continues until Sunday morning, January 8, 2023.”

Adding that clouds are expected to flow over the Musandam Governorate, with chances of sporadic rain from this evening, and it will gradually extend to include the governorates of Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah and Al Dhahirah, with rains of varying intensity, sometimes thunderstorms.
