Oman’s share index ends higher marginally
MSX indicated that the market value increased by 0.026 percent from the last trading day.

Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,868.09 points, up by 0.41 per cent from previous close on Thursday. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.13 per cent at 506.03 points. Sharqiyah Desalination, up 8.55 per cent, was the top gainer while, Oman Refreshment, down 9.97 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of United Finance were the most active in terms of number of shares traded while MB Sukuk USD were the most active in terms of turnover.

A total number of 646 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR4.91 million, with more than 22.9 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded securities, 12 advanced, 13 declined, and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net sellers for OMR462,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR330,000, followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR131,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 7,892.52 points, down 0.04 per cent. Prices of Oman Qatar Insurance, Sohar International Bank and National Bank Oman were up by 4.42 per cent, 0.94 per cent and 0.70 per cent. Prices of Arabia Falcon Insurance, Dhofar Insurance, Al Anwar Investment, United Finance, and Al Madina Takaful were down by 1.18 per cent, 4.31 per cent, 3.30 per cent, 2.82 per cent, and 1.11 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index closed at 6,377.62 points, down 0.98 per cent. Prices of Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Gulf Mushroom Products were up by 1.18 per cent, 0.94 per cent and 0.42 per cent respectively. Prices of Oman Refreshment, Jazeera Steel Products and Oman Cement were down by 9.97 per cent, 0.86 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively.

Services Index was up by 0.36 per cent before closing at 1,631.31 points. Prices of Sharqiyah Desalination, Ooredoo, Renaissance Services, Muscat Desalination, and Oman Telecom were up by 8.55 per cent, 2.77 per cent, 2.19 per cent, 2.04 per cent, and 0.86 per cent respectively. Prices of Salalah Port Services, Al Batinah Power, OIFC and Shell Oman Marketing were down by 8.16 per cent, 3.33 per cent, 1.52 per cent and 0.45 per cent respectively.
