Muscat CT beat IAS, AER stun Zawawi Powertech

Muscat: Muscat CT beat IAS CT by 48 runs and AER Bin Ali stun Zawawi Powertech to claim victory by 22 runs in the Premier Division League Season 2022-23 powered by Muscat Pharmacy.

On Friday, IAS CT invited Muscat CT to bat first. Muscat CT lost its 1st wicket in the 1st over of the match. Shoaib Khan (49 of 64) and Ashish Odedra stitched a 87-run partnership to cruise towards a formidable total to defend.

Ayaan Khan’s half century along with Suraj Kumar’s run a ball 40 powered Muscat CT to reach 238 in 50 overs.

 Rana Naeem and Waseem Akhtar were the strikers with the ball for IAS CT picking 2 wickets each. In response, IAS struggled to get going with none of their batsman could carry their innings. Muhammed Aqeel (33 of 46) and Usman Haider’s (46 of 65) innings kept them in the game but was not enough to take them over the line.

IAS CT bundled down to 190 with Ayaan Khan picking 2 wickets and 6 of Muscat CT bowlers picking a wicket each. On Saturday, Zawawi Powertech put AER Bin Ali to bat first. AER got off to a stable start notching 28 runs for the first wicket partnership. Zawawi Powertech came fiery at the AER batters not allowing any of them to settle down. AER bundled down for just 106 courtesy of a blazing 4 wickets spell from Yashas GL and 2 wickets each bagged by Suhil K and Nishad KS.

In response, AER Bin Ali looked aggressive in their approach to nullify the Powertech batters. Powertech lost half its side in the powerplay for just 44 runs courtesy disciplined bowling from Mohsin Qureshi and Arafat Islam.

Powertech kept loosing wickets with just Kalaiarasan (17 of 11*) left stranded as the last man as they wrapped up for just 84. Arafat Islam picked up 5 wickets while Mohsin Qureshi and Aamir Kaleem bagged 2 wickets each. AER Bin Ali registered their 1st victory defeating unbeaten Zawawi Powertech.
