As we step in the year 2023, let us soak up in the pleasant weather of Muscat. Walking along the Corniche is perhaps one of the most favourite pastimes of those living in Muscat. Talking about Corniche the first place that comes to our mind is Muttrah Corniche where you can walk the complete stretch that starts from the Fish Market right up to the Al Alam Palace.
The busy walkway is crowded with tourists, expats, and locals enjoying the oceanic views and the proximity to the historic Muttrah Souq. After your walk, you can linger at one of the numerous restaurants and cafes. While walking the long stretch one also passes the majestic Muscat Gate which is also a museum. For those living in Shatti, the love street is a very popular walkway. With its beautiful palms, BBQ areas, and plenty of restaurants and cafes, it is perfect for an afternoon chill or for a leisurely evening walk.
The lush green stretch situated at Al Izdihar Street, near Al Ghubra lake garden is a great place to take a stroll. Seeb Corniche is a beautifully developed 8-kilometre corniche located between Mabela and the Seeb fish market. It’s been renovated and adorned with trees and flowers along the interlocked walkway which also features a kids’ playground. This quiet place is a must-visit in the cool evenings. And for those who do not mind the distance, Al Hail Corniche is a perfect place for family gathering and a leisurely walk.
