Muscat: All staff and visitors to the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) are required to wear face masks from Monday, January 2, 2023.

According to a circular issued by SQUH on January 1, 2023, this was needed due to the unfortunate surge in admission of COVID-19 patients in the past few days. In order to avert the spread of the virus among the hospital's staff and patients, it has decided to take the following precautionary measures in the interim:

1- 4 Purple Ward is to be used for admission of COVID positive patients (Pediatrics and Adults).

2- All staff and visitors must enter through the hospital's main entrance.

3- Visitors and staff are not allowed to take the Emergency Department to enter the hospital.

4- Any staff and visitors to the hospital are to wear face masks, with effect from Monday, January 2, 2023.

The Infection Control Department, in conjunction with the Hospital Administration will continue to monitor the situation to determine the next line of action.
