Muscat: The Royal Opera House Muscat will present Gaetano Donizetti’s beloved opera, L’Elisird’Amore performed by the Orchestra and Chorus of Teatro Lirico di Cagliari conducted by Jordi Bernacer.
The opera features an incredible all-star cast including Erwin Schrott in the role of the wicked charlatan Dulcamara.
L’Elisird’Amore tells the story of Nemorino, a simple country lad, who yearns for his childhood friend to return his love.
He is convinced by the promises of a travelling ‘doctor’, who offers him a mysterious elixir, one which will render him irresistible to his true love.
Time is against him, as his love welcomes the flirtatious advances of a dashing soldier, in haste he sells himself into the army to fund another bottle of the potion.
Enjoy a pacy, theatrical extravaganza, with a vibrant staging and beautiful costumes. Nina Minasyan sings Adina, René Barbera sings Nemorino, while Germán Enrique Alcántara takes the role of Belcore.L’Elisird’Amore will take place at the Royal Opera House Muscat on Thursday, 5 January at 7pm and Saturday 7 January, at 4pm for a matinee performance.
A pre-performance talk will take place one hour ahead of the show.
