Muscat: The total electricity generation in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 1.4 per cent to reach 35,961.6 gigawatt hours at the end of October 2022 compared to 35,460.1 gigawatts in the same period in 2021.
The statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that the net electricity generation of Oman at the end of October 2022, which included purchases by the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company and by the Rural Areas Electricity Company amounted to 34,811.2 gigawatts per hour, an increase of 1.4 per cent, compared to 34,338.5 gigawatts per hour during the same period in 2021.
On the other hand, the total amount of water produced in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 5 per cent, to reach 427,797.9 cubic metres at the end of October 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
The governorates of Dhofar and Muscat recorded an increase in water production by 9.2 per cent and 6.9 per cent, respectively at the end of October 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.
